Fat Tuesday
I haven't been in the best working mood lately. It's like I come in, check my ebay, check my friends' blogs, check the news, check the sales, and then do whatever else. And to think I need to get work done since P and I do our transition by Friday. I'm just lazy.
But the good news is -
After so much bitching between both sids, Big Boss A finally switched me and P. So now, I'm back with the Asian Gang! It's too cool. No wonder L kept telling me to hang in there... I was so running out of patience. But it's all worth it! It's about damn time! I can't keep still. I know it's gonna get overwhelming but... atleast I will be happier. And that's all the matters.
Jake is turnin one in a matter of days. Time surely flies. I can hardly believe it. He is so active now, with more hair and more teeth! He is such a doll. He progressed A LOT after we put him in day care when M&D went to the Philippines. He babbles more and interacts more with people. He says "UG" for dog and can say "Da-dee" for Daddy. He doesn't want to walk though :(. When he's in the walker, he walks like crazy but when you guide him, he slumps and refuses to stand up. I wonder why. He waves goodbye to people. Last week, while J&C were over for their weekly dinner, Jake all of a sudden did "beautiful eyes". See - now I don't know if that's a Filipino thing or not.. but that's when babies/kids bat their eyelashes or close their eyes with feelings. Why is it called beautiful eyes? Don't ask me. Anyways... C was surprised and asked who taught Jake how to do that.. me or the Hubs. Hubs and I looked at each other and said "that's all new! I didn't teach him that!" He did it on his own.
I'm in the middle of getting his birthday party in order. It's turning out to be a bigger spectacle than it needs to be. But who am I to argue? Grandparents D are buying the lechon. Grandparents E are cooking the whole meal. Grandpa E is living up to his promise of a jumper - but instead of a jumper, we decided on getting a face painter/balloon person instead. It's a Chinese Theme birthday party by the way. People loved the invitation I made: cardstock with a lucky coin tied with raffia and Jake's name in Chinese stamped on the bottom in red envelope. Simple and yet classy :). I didn't want any Disney or cutesy themed party. I'm just antisocial that way. I got TONS of stuff at China Town for dirt cheap so I'm so happy. I've always said we are having a Chinese-themed party even before I gave birth. We also bought the tapioca drink straws since Mom E will make sago juice. We need to order the fortune cookies to put in the take out boxes. I'm so excited. We are expecting a lot of people. I hope the weather cooperates.
M&D, C and the girls and R are all back from Manila. They had a blast. I was a bit envious, wishing we were with them... but Hubs, Jake & I had our own fun :).

Take care people.
