The Circle of Life
The Big Guy and I, along with 16 other friends, went to go watch The Lion King at the Orpheum Theater in SF last night. It was simply AMAZING!!! We got amazing seats thanks to S&E and Virgin Mobile :). Simba was great. Scar was awesome. Nala was ghetto. It was just a spectacular musical. I'm sure Jake would've loved it - all the costumes and animals coming to life...but he would've gotten bored easily. It was a great night with great friends.
E, M & I walked around Union Square while waiting for the husbands to come in to the city. I did good - walked in to Anthropologie and walked out with 3 pairs of pants...all on sale!!! Not bad. Was able to drag the husband inside Gucci - showed him the "most coveted thing" I want :)..he seems to agree it's cute. In due time...haha!!!
It's 4th of July weekend. We were supposed to attend E&J's wedding today but last night, Jake started feeling weird. He spent the day at M&D's while we watched Lion King and when we got home, D said he was throwing up. His asthma is acting up again and last night, I decided we shouldn't go to the wedding. The thing here in the States is, without a nanny, we have no choice but to bring the baby to the wedding. We could easily leave him with my parents again, but we both felt that last night was too long to leave Jake again today. If we did go to the wedding, we won't get home till late...which means he will be cranky come reception time. Ahh...just too much going on. So..it's a lazy day for the 3 of us...which is the best if you ask me ;).
So M let the cat out of the bag...she and R are moving back to IL to work for Walgreens (the Big Guy and my favorite store!). She told me and E yesterday on our way to the city (after a HUGE lunch at Kincaids) and next thing I knew, she was crying in the car. I was crying. E was too distraught that we couldn't get out of Oakland. It's sad. M leaving. E waiting for the Gap to call. I'm waiting for my prospective job to get back to me. It's the beginning of the end, as E puts it. It's been a big drama lately at work - Damn the Great Bullseye - but at the end of the day, great friendships have been formed. M turns in her 2 weeks on Tuesday which marks the 19th as her last day. She'll be Walgreens' Drug Dealer ;). M&R rode with us yesterday to the play (big joke: The Big Guy and R..BFF!!!) and we talked about what could be. It's just hard to fathom. I'm sure gonna miss her.
