I just love being a girl....
This weekend was Inna's 8th birthday and boy did she have fun.
For the longest time she has been bugging her mom to let her have a sleep-over, or spend the night at a friend's house. My sister thinks she's too young. But Inna doesn't understand.
So for her 8th birthday, C and I thought "why not give Inna a sleep-over?"
So the ball started rolling....
C started calling local hotels around the area and we found a suite at the Courtyard Marriot at the Great Mall. Then, the new Hilary Duff movie "The Cinderella Story" opened right on time so the premise goes:
--- The girls (Inna was allowed to invite 3 friends plus Bel to total 5 giddy girls) were to be dropped off at the hotel room. The parents received instruction from C that she will provide the pajamas, the undies, the toiletries and whatever fun things for each girl so they will all match. They will watch the movie, have pizza dinner back in the hotel and do whatever their hearts desire for the rest of the evening. Then in the morning, breakfast before pick-up time at 11am.
So the whole week, Inna was under the impression that she was just going to watch the movie with her friends and they will all come back to the house to play and then the girls will get picked-up. So on Saturday, C and Bel went ahead to get the room ready with balloons and streamers and all the goodies while I stayed at the house with Inna. At 3pm, I got the call to head out to the hotel. I told Inna a friend of mine is in town and wants to watch the movie with us and we have to pick her up at the hotel. We knocked on the door - and when we opened it, the girls all popped up and shouted surprise. I'm sure Inna was surprised but she was more in shock :). Then it hit her - she and her friends will have sleep-over at the hotel!!! Around 3:45, we headed to the movies. Inna and Haley in my car; Bel, Kanami and Amara in C's car. Walking around the theater with 5 giddy girls was too cute. Getting their food order was another thing. Coordinating who sits where was a challenge. All in all, C and I managed. It was a cute movie - although I felt a bit too old :).
After the movies, we headed back to the room and the girls got on with the make-up and nailpolish. It's amazing - they know how to put them on!!! The girls decided they wanted McDonalds instead of pizza so Happy Meals it was. C and Bel went to get the food while I stayed in the hotel with the girls. Annie kept them occupied during dinner and I headed out to get cupcakes for Inna as birthday cake. By the time I got back, the girls were in their matching pj's and their faces were all painted with whatever color and with glitters to match! They all looked like Minnie Mimi's :). They were more than happy to pose for pictures. M&D came by after watching Fahrenheit 9/11 and Dad came with his printer to print the pictures and Mom bought frames for the girls to take home with them. I went home (my boys spent the night at the IL's) and back at the hotel by 9:30 the next morning. The girls apparently went to sleep at 2:30am...just giggling and laughing away. We headed downstairs for breakfast and then the girls got picked up by 11am.
It was a great time for Inna. She had a wonderful time. Happy birthday, my Inna.
Yesterday, the boys came home by 1:30 and Jake was asleep. The Big Guy went out to get his hair cut and by the time he got back, Jake was up. We had to go to Costco to do diaper run and whatever else we needed and then I told the Big Guy "I wanted to go to Anthropologie today." He decided "SURE, Why not?" So from South San Jose, he drove to Palo Alto so I can shop. Thanks Big Guy :) He knew where the store was - I didn't. I ended up with a cute pair of capris with pink piping and a cute pink tie on the waist. Also, I bought Mei a hand lotion - to remind her of the vanity that we taught her here at work :).
Today is M's last day. We are totally going to miss her. We went to Sushi House for lunch - yum!!! She doesn't leave for Chicago until Saturday but today is her official last day. Last Thursday, the girls and the husbands all went out to dinner to bid her farewell. That was a fun dinner. Jake was so inlove with R.
Oh well... time to do some work I guess. Toodles people.
