The Best Week Ever!!!

Actually, it started over the weekend...

Ok... so we live approx 1.5 miles away from Mom & Dad.  We had dinner there Friday night and decided to take off by 9.  The Big Guy asked "did you want to drive around?"  Sure, I said.  Since we had both cars with us, we went home and parked mine, hopped on to the Jetta and off we went.  We had no destination planned - he just kept driving and driving.  Then I said "I want to know what's in downtown Los Gatos."  So off to 85 we headed...  Short story:  We never got to where I wanted to go because:  First of all, it was pitch dark out at 9:30pm and the fact that Jake was fast asleep by the time we got on to 280.  On the way home, we drove past downtown San Jose and through the old Victorians.  By the time we got home, it was 10:30.  It was a nonsense but fun drive around town :).

Saturday was the last hoorah before M flew out to Chicago.  She asked for a last dose of me and E so off to Stacks we went for Saturday brunch.  We met around 10am with husbands and babies in tow.  It was a good brunch and great company.  After eating, we walked around Burlingame Ave before M & R had to take off to go to the airport.  Oh - we'll surely miss her!

The rest of the day Saturday was spent lounging around the house.  The Big Guy got around to bringing our old clothes to Goodwill.  Weird thing - Goodwill does not accept car seats.  Interesting.  Jake has his infant carrier that we wanted to donate but they did not want to accept it.  Weird.  They got our clothes and Jake's clothes so that's atleast 4 garbage bags-worth that we got rid off.  Mom and Dad came by to cook his famous crabs (yummy!) and have dinner over since it was too hot and the a/c was a relief.  C and the girls came by as well.

Sunday - we just stayed home.  The Big Guy finally got around to cleaning and rearranging the kitchen and fixing the pantry and his spice cabinet.  He is so proud of his kitchen now - I was surprised he didn't want to take a picture of it :).  Jake was down for his afternoon nap so I decided to iron my clothes.  Now I remember why I don't like ironing.  I did 4 pants, 2 skirts in one hour.  But the first pair of pants took me a good 20 mins to finish.  I was so frustrated.  I was so hot.  I was tired from standing around.  The Big Guy just looked at me with dismay.  I tried.  I really did.  He was even impressed with the crease I made on one of my pants :).  Anyways, the little boy went swimming with Daddy too.  He loved it!!  We only put him in the water for a good 15 mins but that was enough to make him happy.

But today...... today was D-Day.  No...not the Bullseye announcement we've all been waiting for.  Today was the day L gave each of us (me, E, C and M - eventhough she is not here anymore) our 'thank you for the hardwork' gift.  We were so excited we started screaming like little girls.  This is how mine looks like.  Too cute!  I'm so excited to go home and try it.  E got the same one as mine; C got the Blue one and M got the Silver one.  Thanks L!

Hopefully this is the beginning of the Best Week Ever for little 'ol me!  And before I forget, it's 15 years today.

Toodles people.  Take care.
