Another Day...

I woke up today with the realization that there is no "beautiful day" ...
The Big Guy was resigned since last night that we have 4 more years of the same 'ol shit. I was in line for almost an hour last night, almost on the verge of walking out since the line did not seem to move at all. But I figured, if I walked out and not cast my vote and my candidate (=> Kerry) does not win, that's one vote that has gone to waste. So, like everyone else, I patiently waited for my turn..... and went shopping afterwards :). But the weird thing about politics is - it's not defeat per se but another chance to prove your point. There were a lot more turnout this time than 4 years ago...and that's a start. We can only hope for the best. I look at Jake and wonder what the "best" has instore for him...but as long as I know that someone is out there fighting to look out for Jake's future, there is hope :). So we try again...

I haven't blogged anything worthwhile lately. Maybe I haven't done anything worthwhile? Ehh?!

Halloween 2004 --- Jake aka STITCH
- Jake's second halloween and this time, he had an awesome time!!! We were a bit apprehesive at first since he threw a fit every time we tried on his costume but after he saw Bel in her bunny costume, Jake was more than happy to put on his. He looked so cute. And with how he has been lately (cranky one minute, angelic the next) - I think Stitch was the perfect choice. He followed Inna (the Toothless Devil) and Bel (Bunny Rabbit) from house to house, excitedly holding on to his bucket and going up to the door saying "Tee-too-tee-too" -- his version of Trick or Treat. After going door to door, Papa and Grandma Dy decided to take the kids to the mall to do some more trick or treating. By the time we got there, Spidermans, Tinkerbells, Sponge Bobs and Gremlins galore were all pooped from walking around getting candies from the stores. Jake turned into Mr. Crankypants towards the end so we headed back to the house. He was so excited everytime the doorbell would ring and he ran to the door to help pass out candies. I'm glad he got to enjoy Halloween this time around. Next year, I plan to get Jake his own personalized Halloween Bucket from Pottery Barn Kids.

Baby V Update:
- C texted me last week and it's confirmed, they're having a baby girl who they will name Isabella Marie. I'm so excited for her!! I constantly walk around looking for THE cutest baby stuff around. I promised her a Kate Spade diaper bag like mine - and nothing but the best for my god-daughther :). C's doctor is aiming up to atleast 34 weeks and it might be ok to deliver Baby Isabella out due to C's high blood pressure condition. She is now at 100% bedrest until her 34th week.... 5 more weeks to go and she and D just might have a little one of their own by Christmas.

Jake Update:
- The little monster (thanks to Papa D) can now count. Of course you have to 'encourage' the counting and he seems to only now even numbers one day, odd numbers the next...but nonetheless, he can now count :).
- His favorite word: DUDE!
- He still has his moments of being Mr. Crankypants but it's more tolerable lately.
** The Big Guy and I were just talking last night over dinner... in Jake's short life, he has already gone through:
- One Presidential Election
- One war in Iraq
- One Olympics
- One overseas travel
..... and he's not even two yet.
