Oh I so LOVE being an American....

The Democratic National Convention ended last night with John Kerry "reporting for duty." Ohh... makes me want to go out and vote NOW! Don't forget people...register to vote! I loved every single speech, every single topic, every single anti-Republican there was to say. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

"There is no conservative America and liberal America," he said. "There is the United States of America."
State Senator - IL
"As president, I will bring back this nation's time-honored tradition: the United States of America never goes to war because we want to, we only go to war because we have to."
Well, off to shopping we go in about an hour so I have to get some work done before we head out to Broadway Plaza. I love Fridays!

This is my fate...for now....

Target Corporation announced today that it has reached definitive agreements to sell its Mervyn’s business unit to an investment consortium for an aggregate consideration of approximately $1.65 billion in cash. Mervyn’s is a promotional, middle-market department store, based in the San Francisco Bay area with 257 stores in 13 states, primarily in the west and south. In 2003, Mervyn’s generated $3.6 billion in revenue and $160 million in pretax segment profit.

Under the terms of the agreements, Target Corporation will sell its Mervyn’s retail subsidiary, including 257 Mervyn’s stores and four distribution centers, to an investment consortium including Sun Capital Partners, Inc., Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., Lubert-Adler/ Klaff and Partners, L.P.. Additionally, Target Corporation will sell Mervyn’s credit card receivables, totaling approximately $475 million, to GE Consumer Finance, a unit of General Electric Company. Mervyn’s will continue to operate from its headquarters in Hayward, California as an independent company.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed shortly after approval is obtained. The sale is expected to result in an estimated gain in the range of $270 million pre-tax, or approximately $0.18 per share, in the third quarter.

Bob Ulrich, chairman and chief executive officer of Target Corporation, said, “We believe that the sale of Mervyn’s as an ongoing business reflects our long-term commitment to create substantial value for our shareholders over time and enhances the opportunity for all of our stakeholders, including our team members, guests and communities, to enjoy continued success for many years.”

Sun Capital Partners, Inc. is a private investment firm with more than $1 billion of capital under management. With this transaction, Mervyn’s becomes the most recent addition to Sun Capital’s extensive portfolio of retail investments which include Sam Goody, SunCoast, Media Play, Anchor Blue, Wicke’s Furniture, and Bruegger’s Bagels, among others.

Headquartered in New York City, Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. and its affiliated entities manage funds and accounts with capital in excess of $14 billion.

Lubert-Adler Management, Inc. manages four funds with $2.5 billion in equity capital under management and makes real estate investments in retail businesses through its joint venture with Klaff Realty, L.P..

A pre-recorded message describing all information that is currently available will be accessible later this evening by calling 612-761-6500. A transcript of this pre-recorded message is also available on our web site at
www.targetcorp.com (Click on “investor information,” then select “presentations”).

Forward-looking statements in this release should be read in conjunction with the cautionary statements in Exhibit (99)C to the company’s 2003 Form 10-K.

Following the completion of the sale transactions for both Mervyn’s and Marshall Field’s, Target Corporation will continue to operate Target Stores, a large-store, general-merchandise, discount format, currently consisting of 1,272 stores in 47 states, as well as an on-line business called Target.com.

Target Corporation news releases are available at www.target.com or www.prnewswire.com.

The Target Corporation team member discount at Mervyn’s stores will continue to be valid for Target and Mervyn’s team members until the sale becomes final, which is expected within the next 30-60 days. Mervyn’s team members may also continue to use their discount at Target until that time.

We recognize that there are still many unanswered questions regarding this announcement. We are committed to sharing more information as soon as it becomes available.

On a lighter note...

Isn't this the cutest thing?

The latest news so far...

Target is said to prefer selling Mervyn’s to a buyer that would continue to operate the chain, rather than liquidate the assets.
By David Moin

NEW YORK — The race to buy Mervyn’s is in its final lap, with two investment funds — Cerberus Capital Management and Sun Capital Partners — teaming up to make the highest bid so far, estimated at between $1 billion and $1.5 billion, according to people familiar with the situation.

Cerberus and Sun are said to have a third partner in their bid, a real estate company, to spread the investment risk. The identity of the real estate firm could not be learned.

Other parties vying for Mervyn’s are believed to have bid just more than the $1 billion mark and may have decided not to up their offers.

“Cerberus is leading the race big time,” said a source in the financial community, who added that he expected an announcement of a deal by the end of this week or in early August.

Mervyn’s, a promotional department store chain based in Hayward, Calif., was put up for sale by its parent, Target Corp., last March. The chain has been losing market share and showing declining profits recently, but some market observers believe it still has a niche, particularly with Hispanic shoppers since it is concentrated in California and Texas.

Target prefers to sell Mervyn’s to a buyer that would continue to operate the chain, rather than liquidate the assets. It is not clear what Sun/Cerberus, or the other bidders, have in mind for Mervyn’s. The sale process has been handled by Goldman Sachs.

Cerberus, a New York-based private equity firm, is considered a vulture fund and lately has been active in buying distressed companies. Last year it bought Fila, the athletic brand that has been going through rough times. Before that, Cerberus bought or helped finance such troubled companies as G&G, the specialty chain that was part of the former Petrie Stores; Guilford Mills, and Frederick’s of Hollywood. Cerberus also has been seen this summer as a potential investor in Versace, which is looking to sell a minority stake, although it has never confirmed its interest.

Leonard Tessler, a Cerberus executive, said of a possible Mervyn’s bid: “I am not in a position to make a comment.” Other officials could not be reached Tuesday. Cerberus is the name of a three-headed dog in Greek mythology. The company’s fund is said to be in the billions.

“The company is very aggressive and has very talented individuals there,” said Gilbert Harrison, chairman of Financo Inc.

“Cerberus is a major venture capital fund sitting on a lot of money,” said one consultant.

Sun Capital, which likes to tackle turnaround situations, is based in Boca Raton, Fla. In the past year, it bought Musicland from Best Buy, as well as Hub Distributing, operators of the Anchor Blue and Levi’s Outlets by Most chains, from the American Retail Group, among other deals.

Schottenstein Stores Corp. and its affiliate, Retail Ventures Inc., led by Jay Schottenstein, and Vornado Realty Trust, a Paramus, N.J.-based real estate investment trust that is among the largest commercial property holders in the New York area, also have been finalists for Mervyn’s, according to sources. But the sources said the Cerberus/Sun group may have beaten the others.

Mervyn’s would be a good fit for Retail Ventures considering that RV’s other divisions — Value City Department Stores, Filene’s Basement and DSW Shoe Warehouse — all have a promotional or discount price orientation. The Schottenstein family also has a 26.8 percent stake in American Eagle Outfitters, according to a May proxy statement, and Jay Schottenstein is chairman of American Eagle.

Blackstone Group and the Apollo Group, which have been reported to be interested in Mervyn’s, were said by sources to have dropped out of the bidding.

Target sold off its Minneapolis-based Marshall Field’s chain earlier this year to May Department Stores Co. for $3.2 billion. May outbid Federated Department Stores for Field’s, but besides the fact that May was willing to pay a higher price, Target is said to have preferred May as a buyer since it intends to keep the Marshall Field’s nameplate, whereas Federated probably would have converted Field’s to its Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s divisions.

Mervyn’s and Field’s were rumored to be up for sale for some time, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that Target went public with its intentions to dispose of the businesses. Both chains have been neglected by Target Corp., which has been putting its resources into building up its successful Target division and differentiating it from the rest of the discount sectors. Other retailers, such as J.C. Penney, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, T. J. Maxx, Marshalls and Macy’s, are seen as strong competitors to Mervyn’s.

I think I will name her Sam...

That is, if the Big Guy decides it's ok to keep it Pink.  I think it's cute.  But we compromised last night that if we are going to exchange it for another color, I want the Lime Green.  Apparently, Pink is THE MOST popular and most-wanted color.  And if we keep it Pink, then it can be Sam :).

Last night, we watched the Democratic National Convention.  Oh I was so enthused I want to go VOTE NOW!!!!  I just love the Clintons.  Jake was so empowered by President Clinton that when his speech was going on, Jake was just sitting in his high chair intently watching the tv.  Nuts - he is so good!!!  I know it's a bit premature people but...MAKE SURE TO GO OUT AND VOTE!

The Big Guy and I watched what must be THE stupidest movie - Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.  It was just weird.  And towards the end, it became stupid.  Too bad.  I like Lindsay Lohan - she was too cute on Parent Trap.  It was Inna's dvd we borrowed - thank goodness we didn't buy it.

Did you know....
- that it's a tradition at Tiffany's for the top executives to work the sales floor during the week before Christmas?
- every employee, from head office to mailroom, must learn how to tie the white ribbon on the blu box on his or her first day?
- that Tiffany's is the only jewelry place down 5th Avenue that welcome tourists in their store?  You can't possibly do that at Van Cleef or Bulgari.  No other fine jeweler can claim to be so fully American in its approach.
- all Tiffany's products, with the exception of Swiss watches, are made in America?

The Best Week Ever!!!

Actually, it started over the weekend...

Ok... so we live approx 1.5 miles away from Mom & Dad.  We had dinner there Friday night and decided to take off by 9.  The Big Guy asked "did you want to drive around?"  Sure, I said.  Since we had both cars with us, we went home and parked mine, hopped on to the Jetta and off we went.  We had no destination planned - he just kept driving and driving.  Then I said "I want to know what's in downtown Los Gatos."  So off to 85 we headed...  Short story:  We never got to where I wanted to go because:  First of all, it was pitch dark out at 9:30pm and the fact that Jake was fast asleep by the time we got on to 280.  On the way home, we drove past downtown San Jose and through the old Victorians.  By the time we got home, it was 10:30.  It was a nonsense but fun drive around town :).

Saturday was the last hoorah before M flew out to Chicago.  She asked for a last dose of me and E so off to Stacks we went for Saturday brunch.  We met around 10am with husbands and babies in tow.  It was a good brunch and great company.  After eating, we walked around Burlingame Ave before M & R had to take off to go to the airport.  Oh - we'll surely miss her!

The rest of the day Saturday was spent lounging around the house.  The Big Guy got around to bringing our old clothes to Goodwill.  Weird thing - Goodwill does not accept car seats.  Interesting.  Jake has his infant carrier that we wanted to donate but they did not want to accept it.  Weird.  They got our clothes and Jake's clothes so that's atleast 4 garbage bags-worth that we got rid off.  Mom and Dad came by to cook his famous crabs (yummy!) and have dinner over since it was too hot and the a/c was a relief.  C and the girls came by as well.

Sunday - we just stayed home.  The Big Guy finally got around to cleaning and rearranging the kitchen and fixing the pantry and his spice cabinet.  He is so proud of his kitchen now - I was surprised he didn't want to take a picture of it :).  Jake was down for his afternoon nap so I decided to iron my clothes.  Now I remember why I don't like ironing.  I did 4 pants, 2 skirts in one hour.  But the first pair of pants took me a good 20 mins to finish.  I was so frustrated.  I was so hot.  I was tired from standing around.  The Big Guy just looked at me with dismay.  I tried.  I really did.  He was even impressed with the crease I made on one of my pants :).  Anyways, the little boy went swimming with Daddy too.  He loved it!!  We only put him in the water for a good 15 mins but that was enough to make him happy.

But today...... today was D-Day.  No...not the Bullseye announcement we've all been waiting for.  Today was the day L gave each of us (me, E, C and M - eventhough she is not here anymore) our 'thank you for the hardwork' gift.  We were so excited we started screaming like little girls.  This is how mine looks like.  Too cute!  I'm so excited to go home and try it.  E got the same one as mine; C got the Blue one and M got the Silver one.  Thanks L!

Hopefully this is the beginning of the Best Week Ever for little 'ol me!  And before I forget, it's 15 years today.

Toodles people.  Take care.

My day to play...

The boss is out today...which means it's my play day :).

It's 11:10am and Es and I have not done one productive email yet.  I have nothing urgent...nothing that can't wait until Monday anyway.  Really though, all of this uncertainty surrounding the Blue M and what the fate of the company would be is making a lot (and I mean a LOT!) of people bitchy, whiney, unhappy and not to mention stressed.  The article from Wall Street Journal wasn't all that promising, but then the optimistic in some of us thinks it's a good thing.  I guess the way my mind works is, I'd rather anticipate the worst to happen and if it doesn't, it's just an added bonus.  There's all these speculations as to who wants to buy us, what they want to do with us, etc...  Too many information going around that it's driving people mad.

I'm so Friendster-ed out.  Lately I've been getting weird "will you be my friend" invitations.  Um.. no! Eww!  C and I were so bored we decided to check other people's Friendsters.

So I have one pet peeve....these Asian girls who pose with their boobies almost exposed.  I don't get it.  And you put it up for the whole world to see?  I just don't get it!  Ok so I have a lot of issues - sue me.  Maybe I'm just getting old.  I don't know.  Will I ever understand it?  I doubt.  I'm just glad I'm conservative.  Yeah you read it right - I AM!!!  Actually, I'm downright boring if you really want to know the truth.  Right now, my Anthropologie pants are actually (for me) very out there...I'm expanding my fashion sense.  But I'm happy being conservative.  Atleast you will never hear anyone say "Hey, I saw your boobies on Friendster!"  These girls - ahhh... I cringe at the thought.  BUT DON'T HATE...!  I'm just saying what I think.  Ya'll do what makes you happy.  Hooch around for all I care.  But none of ya'll will get near my Jake 18 years from now!

Damn the Bullseye!

I have not been a happy camper when it comes to work lately and I have no shame being vocal about it either.  It's hard to be motivated when the Red Bullseye is screwing us over.  Damn!

I have a lot of issues lately.... and I'm sure the Big Guy is SO sick and tired of me bitching.

On being rude...
- Why do some people think they can walk around and yell and throw a big stinkin' attitude in the workplace like it's their God-given right?  I have one coworker who is so oblivious she doesn't even realize how rude she is.  It's time someone knocks her off of her Lalaland pedestal.

On managerial skills...
- How the hell do you get to where you are as a manager with no managerial skills?  That's one question I will forever wonder about with my present situation.  I'm not even gonna go there so I'm just going to shut up now.

On fake people...
- I've said enough!

On the brighter side...
E and I talked our way out of work yesterday afternoon and said we needed to go shopping.  FOR WORK OF COURSE :).  During lunch we decided "I don't think I want to work for the rest of the day" so we told our boss we needed to go and shop.  We ended up in Santana Row.  We were working - honestly :)!  We made sure to hit the places we needed to go to, and buy the things we needed to buy.... and then we went to the places we wanted to go to:  the usuals.  Oh we were so antsy.  To get off early and just play ... And Work!!!  It was too hot to enjoy the whole atmosphere but it was fun.  It was the first time in weeks that I went in to Anthropologie and not walk out with anything.  I'm so proud of myself.  Even E didn't buy anything.  BUT...there's this Japanese paper store (MaiDo) that we just absolutely loved.  We could've stayed there the whole day and I came home bragging to the husband about it.  There was also this chachkee store with all these girly-girly things and E and I just looked at each other and said "this is SO made in Taiwan!"  The store was selling a pair of flip-flops for $55!  Are you nuts?  It had beads on the thong part...but I don't care.  $5 of chinelas at Target and a couple of beads from Michaels do not add up to $55!  I think I want to try one at home just for kicks.

The other day, I was too pissed from work so the Big Guy took me and Jake driving and we ended up at University Avenue in Palo Alto just walking around.  We went all the way to Palo Alto for Starbucks - as if Milpitas didn't have any :).  We walked around, went browsing at Borders and then drove home.  Somehow somewhere we dropped Jake's wipe...sorry buddy.  There was this lady standing in the corner with a sign "I'm broke!  Pls help."  I didn't know you can do that?  My mission now is to look for my own corner and make my sign all pretty but with the same message:  I'm broke!  I didn't see anyone giving money though.  Maybe her sign wasn't cute enough.

Tonight, back to Santana Row for me and my boys.  Toodles people.

I just love being a girl....

This weekend was Inna's 8th birthday and boy did she have fun.
For the longest time she has been bugging her mom to let her have a sleep-over, or spend the night at a friend's house.  My sister thinks she's too young.  But Inna doesn't understand.

So for her 8th birthday, C and I thought "why not give Inna a sleep-over?"
So the ball started rolling....

C started calling local hotels around the area and we found a suite at the Courtyard Marriot at the Great Mall.  Then, the new Hilary Duff movie "The Cinderella Story" opened right on time so the premise goes:
--- The girls (Inna was allowed to invite 3 friends plus Bel to total 5 giddy girls) were to be dropped off at the hotel room.  The parents received instruction from C that she will provide the pajamas, the undies, the toiletries and whatever fun things for each girl so they will all match.  They will watch the movie, have pizza dinner back in the hotel and do whatever their hearts desire for the rest of the evening.  Then in the morning, breakfast before pick-up time at 11am.

So the whole week, Inna was under the impression that she was just going to watch the movie with her friends and they will all come back to the house to play and then the girls will get picked-up.  So on Saturday, C and Bel went ahead to get the room ready with balloons and streamers and all the goodies while I stayed at the house with Inna.  At 3pm, I got the call to head out to the hotel.  I told Inna a friend of mine is in town and wants to watch the movie with us and we have to pick her up at the hotel.  We knocked on the door - and when we opened it, the girls all popped up and shouted surprise.  I'm sure Inna was surprised but she was more in shock :).  Then it hit her - she and her friends will have sleep-over at the hotel!!!  Around 3:45, we headed to the movies.  Inna and Haley in my car; Bel, Kanami and Amara in C's car.  Walking around the theater with 5 giddy girls was too cute.  Getting their food order was another thing.  Coordinating who sits where was a challenge.  All in all, C and I managed.  It was a cute movie - although I felt a bit too old :).

After the movies, we headed back to the room and the girls got on with the make-up and nailpolish.  It's amazing - they know how to put them on!!!  The girls decided they wanted McDonalds instead of pizza so Happy Meals it was.  C and Bel went to get the food while I stayed in the hotel with the girls.  Annie kept them occupied during dinner and I headed out to get cupcakes for Inna as birthday cake.  By the time I got back, the girls were in their matching pj's and their faces were all painted with whatever color and with glitters to match!  They all looked like Minnie Mimi's :).  They were more than happy to pose for pictures.  M&D came by after watching Fahrenheit 9/11 and Dad came with his printer to print the pictures and Mom bought frames for the girls to take home with them.  I went home (my boys spent the night at the IL's) and back at the hotel by 9:30 the next morning.  The girls apparently went to sleep at 2:30am...just giggling and laughing away.  We headed downstairs for breakfast and then the girls got picked up by 11am.

It was a great time for Inna.  She had a wonderful time.  Happy birthday, my Inna.

Yesterday, the boys came home by 1:30 and Jake was asleep.  The Big Guy went out to get his hair cut and by the time he got back, Jake was up.  We had to go to Costco to do diaper run and whatever else we needed and then I told the Big Guy "I wanted to go to Anthropologie today."  He decided "SURE, Why not?"  So from South San Jose, he drove to Palo Alto so I can shop.  Thanks Big Guy :)  He knew where the store was - I didn't.  I ended up with a cute pair of capris with pink piping and a cute pink tie on the waist.  Also, I bought Mei a hand lotion - to remind her of the vanity that we taught her here at work :).

Today is M's last day.  We are totally going to miss her.  We went to Sushi House for lunch - yum!!!  She doesn't leave for Chicago until Saturday but today is her official last day.  Last Thursday, the girls and the husbands all went out to dinner to bid her farewell.  That was a fun dinner.  Jake was so inlove with R.

Oh well... time to do some work I guess.  Toodles people.

I've had better days...

For some odd reason, I got this forwarded email from a friend today.  I don't know much about anything...but there's one thing I know for sure...and the Big Guy knows it in his heart.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!
When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Is tomorrow D-Day?

Tomorrow (7/15) is supposedly when we should hear the fate of the Big Blue M! If you ask me, The Big Bullseye totally screwed us over...but that's another conversation in and of itself. Are we really going to hear our fate tomorrow? We shall see...

Last night, The Big Guy was so sweet! We knew the minute we drive off from M&D's, the Little Guy would fall asleep so The Big Guy decided to drive around. I was thinking it was just going to be the usual drive around the block until Jake is asleep but no...he said he wanted to drive all the way to Palo Alto. "Palo Alto?" I asked..he said yes. He said he wanted to drive down University Avenue and at the same time, treat me to Cold Stone Creamery for my much-wanted Mudpie Mojo. I was so happy :). See, it doesn't take much to make me happy. Thanks, Big Guy. We got home with my ice cream half-empty and I kept some in the freezer to enjoy later today.

We FINALLY got our wedding album. Don't jock! I know it's been 2 years but... but... ok so we lagged. It was hard to narrow down the pictures, on top of putting it in order and making sure what was important was included...aiyayayayay!! But Annie did such a wonderful job - it was DEFINITELY worth the wait.

Met up with the N@W girls on Saturday since A&A are in town. We had lunch at Applebees and met up with M who was nice enough to drive all the way to Union City from American Canyon. Little A was taking a nap on the way to the restaurant and by the time we got there, Jake was the one who was ready for his. Ahh! It was such a production to tend to the little boys plus share stories, etc.... It was a great meeting though. Thanks for lunch, M :).

The Big Guy, Jake and I spent the night at the IL's over the weekend after Joseph's 3rd Power Ranger Birthday Party. Jake was fast asleep by the time we got to AC, so we were able to go on a "Date" and watch Fahrenheit 9/11. Oh my goodness did that movie keep my interest or what? It was a very interesting movie I tell yah. My MIL will not watch it since the movie practically bashes Bush ;). Just kidding, Mom E! I highly recommend it - go watch it people!

The business propositions are still in 'negotiations'.. I'll advise once E & I have finalized details.

My current obsessions:
- Still the nail/cuticle creams
- Updated poncho
- My cute pants

Toodles people! Take care of each other!

Ugghhh...one more day!

Ok so I'm bored out of my mind. I came home last night with my boys wrestling around the living room. I was excited!!! I had 10,000 things running through my head that my mouth (FOR THE FIRST TIME!) couldn't keep up! First, my Ferragamo's came in the mail.. yipee yipee yay yay!! I tried to wear them today but it looked funky with my flip-flop tan lines (damn sun!) so I think I will wait until my feet's done with the lines so it will look better.

So - what is getting this Pepper all fired up? My business propositions! I was jumping from one idea to the next, trying to explain it all in one breathe for the Big Guy. He was looking at me, equally excited - either that or he is thinking "the wifey has totally gone nuts!" I talked about Plan A, Plan B and Plan C. But I don't know what to do.

See...I have one ultimate goal behind all of this: I want to be a Stay-at-Home Mom. Ok people.. gasp all you want! Yes, you read it! I want to be a stay-at-home Mom. I know - this is a shocker, aint it? I can imagine a couple of eyes rolling, eyebrows raised from people that know me. What's with the change of heart? Actually, as much as I tried to deny it then, deep down inside I've always wanted to stay home to be with the "kids". Mind you I'm not domesticated by any means (which the Big Guy has resigned to) but I am a good housekeeper and I know the Big Guy will agree! He supports my ultimate dream, and that's why he's 'tolerating' me right now. Ha! When I was younger (and scorned and broken-hearted), I said I would NEVER get married and I don't want to have kids. Look at where I am now? Married with a boy! So, things change people and I'm proven fact! So yeah - that's my ultimate goal. So now, my mind is going crazy and racing to meet my goal.

I'm lucky. I'm married to someone who can catch up with my flight of ideas, understands them, has abundance of patience and actually supports me. Ahh.. to be blessed :). At 28, I'm married, settled, contented but equally excited. I love my life and if given the choice, I would do this all over again!!!

Anyways, so I've made the first step and 'signed up' for whatever information I can get my hands on for Plan B (which the Big Guy thinks might be the BEST idea out of all 3). We'll see what happens. Wish me luck people. Wish me luck!

C told me that H&M is opening in Union Square soon. Oh I am SO tickled pink and I can hardly wait.

My current obsessions:
- Hand Cream
- Cuticle Cream
- Cuticle Pen

I have no desire at all!

I think I have exhausted all enthusiasm I have with work. To come to work means literally dragging myself out of bed. I hate this feeling! I used to get so excited to come to work. Retail used to rock!! Shopping is what I live to do. And to get paid for it? Nuts.. it's the best thing ever. But eversince the Great Bullseye decided to screw us over, there goes all motivation. I come to work with no sense of urgency. It's more like 'eeeehhhhhhh...so what?' So what if my Flannel will be late for the set? So what if the vendor is holding my goods 'hostage'? So what? Do I look like I care?!? I should though. I know I should. But really, if you were in my shoes - and you come in to work in an environment like this... you would feel the exact same way I do.

So what gets me excited right now?!
- My boys: The Big Guy and the Little Guy
- My eBay (which I'm sure doesn't excite the Big Guy)
- My newly painted toes (thanks to the Big Guy's treat!)
- The supposed "Cheeseball" business with E
- Start scrapbooking (ok so I'm a little delayed on this people..gimme a break!)

So, the Big Guy and I got invited to a "wedding" - but it's a wedding we'd both want to go and as bad as it may sound, we want to go out of curiosity. Former boss J is getting married to his longtime partner R on 8/15. Now, the Big Guy and I have never been to a same-sex wedding ceremony before so that part, we are curious and want to go. But also at the same time, I say GOOD FOR YOU!!! I may go to hell for this and people may damn me all they want - but my thing is, it's hard enough to find someone to love and be with for the rest of your life, must there really be a restriction as to what gender they are? I think people who have strong opinions against it should mind their own business. Anyway, before I go off...... It's an exciting time and we are just glad to be invited.

J&C, the Big Guy, Jake and I went to dimsum on Monday since it was no-work day because of 4th of July. It was such a fun day!!! We went to the dirty dimsum place by my work, Oriental Tea House in San Leandro. Try it people. The restaurant may be dingky but their tantar is to die for!!! We must have ordered everything shrimpy since J likes shrimps. It was good and $50 later, we were all stuff, even Jake. Afterwards, we got our toes done! First it was supposed to be just the wifeys but then the husbands decided they wanted to get footspa done to them as well. It was too cute I had to take a picture of it. My Little Guy was so good - he decided to give Mama and Daddy a break and was asleep the whole time we were at the nail place. The fans for the nails were all focused on him since he started sweating in the stroller but he was out cold even until we were done. The Big Guy and J decided I should have French Tips done on my toes..and so I did :).

It's Hump Day. Two more days... two more days.

The Circle of Life

The Big Guy and I, along with 16 other friends, went to go watch The Lion King at the Orpheum Theater in SF last night. It was simply AMAZING!!! We got amazing seats thanks to S&E and Virgin Mobile :). Simba was great. Scar was awesome. Nala was ghetto. It was just a spectacular musical. I'm sure Jake would've loved it - all the costumes and animals coming to life...but he would've gotten bored easily. It was a great night with great friends.

E, M & I walked around Union Square while waiting for the husbands to come in to the city. I did good - walked in to Anthropologie and walked out with 3 pairs of pants...all on sale!!! Not bad. Was able to drag the husband inside Gucci - showed him the "most coveted thing" I want :)..he seems to agree it's cute. In due time...haha!!!

It's 4th of July weekend. We were supposed to attend E&J's wedding today but last night, Jake started feeling weird. He spent the day at M&D's while we watched Lion King and when we got home, D said he was throwing up. His asthma is acting up again and last night, I decided we shouldn't go to the wedding. The thing here in the States is, without a nanny, we have no choice but to bring the baby to the wedding. We could easily leave him with my parents again, but we both felt that last night was too long to leave Jake again today. If we did go to the wedding, we won't get home till late...which means he will be cranky come reception time. Ahh...just too much going on. So..it's a lazy day for the 3 of us...which is the best if you ask me ;).

So M let the cat out of the bag...she and R are moving back to IL to work for Walgreens (the Big Guy and my favorite store!). She told me and E yesterday on our way to the city (after a HUGE lunch at Kincaids) and next thing I knew, she was crying in the car. I was crying. E was too distraught that we couldn't get out of Oakland. It's sad. M leaving. E waiting for the Gap to call. I'm waiting for my prospective job to get back to me. It's the beginning of the end, as E puts it. It's been a big drama lately at work - Damn the Great Bullseye - but at the end of the day, great friendships have been formed. M turns in her 2 weeks on Tuesday which marks the 19th as her last day. She'll be Walgreens' Drug Dealer ;). M&R rode with us yesterday to the play (big joke: The Big Guy and R..BFF!!!) and we talked about what could be. It's just hard to fathom. I'm sure gonna miss her.
